Animal Welfare Policy
We believe that all living creatures deserve fair treatment. We aim to take care of animals when they are part of our production and do our best to treat them with respect and dignity, ensuring they are protected from unnecessary harm.
Our definition of animal welfare and dignity is based on the five freedoms developed by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) . The five freedoms describe society’s expectations for the conditions animals should experience when under human control, namely:
- Freedom from hunger, malnutrition and thirst
- Freedom from fear and distress
- Freedom from heat stress or physical discomfort
- Freedom from pain, injury and disease
- Freedom to express standard patterns of behaviour
